Why Do You Need A Wedding Coordinator?
Because you are arranging your wedding from a long distance away, chances are you may not be very familiar with Maui. There are hundreds of variables that you need to know in order for you to arrange a wedding that goes smoothly and effortlessly. First, there are weather and site considerations. Do you know which areas of Maui that are more likely to have rain at the time of year you wish to get married? Do you know which beaches tend to be more crowded than others, and what time of day is best in order to avoid crowds? Do you know the travel times to the wedding site from where you are staying? Do you know the reputation of all the wedding vendors? Who is reliable, who is not? Do you know who to call at the last minute, if someone has an emergency and cannot show up? Most importantly, do you want to be saddled and stressed with the hundreds of last minute questions and details being asked by wedding vendors and your wedding guests on your wedding day? Do you know all the protocols of how a wedding unfolds, where people should stand, what direction the ceremony should face for the best scenic backgrounds for your pictures? As you might imagine, the questions can go on and on.
A wedding coordinator can save you so much time in the planning stages of your special day. They confirm and re-confirm your vendors, to make sure everyone is on the same page, calendar-wise! And then, as your wedding day unfolds, your coordinator can assist, guide and oversee all the details, catering to your every need. We notice all the little details... such as... Is the bride's veil laying properly? Are the leis straight? Are the guests lined up properly?
Because we do so many weddings, we can anticipate every moment of your ceremony... every need that is going to arise. By hiring a wedding planner, you can be free to enjoy your day, take a deep breath, and let your wedding unfold... you can savor each instant... visit with your family and guests... relax... and be in the moment!
Your wedding planner can advise you of all the details, including music, photo, video, site locations... and all other services that you may desire! They know the best value for the services you require and can save you money. Along with the routine, your wedding advisor can supervise your vendors and handle just about any emergency that may arise.

"This Is The Moment...

So begins one of Hawaii's most popular songs, THE HAWAIIAN WEDDING SONG. In light of the events of September 11th, 2001, which reverberated throughout our nation and around the globe, this song's opening phrase takes on a whole new meaning. Never has there been a better or more meaningful time to be "Maui'd" here in our tropical island paradise!
TV broadcasts show couples all over the U.S. lining up to get married. Within one week of the WTC disaster, a close friend of mine who had been dragging her feet about marrying her love, not only decided it was time to get married, but within that one week they had become husband and wife!! Her comment was that these events had changed her whole life and her thinking about what was important. It is a time for commitment, not only to one's sweethearts, but to family, to country, to our planet and to humankind and people everywhere. However, it all begins with us and the decisions we choose to make about our lives and our future!
On a recent Oprah show, the audience was polled to find out how many people had flown there: It was a large percentage of the audience, over half! The feeling of those people was that it is now safer than ever to fly! Despite this catastrophe, it is still safer to fly than to drive in your car, just as it has always been. Not only that, flights are less crowded, as is Maui.
Last Sunday I got to play tourist and go out for an afternoon snorkel cruise. It was heavenly! There were 21 of us on a boat generally carrying over 100 passengers. What a time to be here!! It was like having a private charter! There are lots of hotel rooms, cars, condos, and great deals and price cuts abound! There are no crowds, no traffic jams and everyone in the visitor industry will, as always, welcome you with open arms! What a great time to enjoy our pristine beaches, warm water, tropical breezes and the warm "aloha" of our magical island!
No only that, a wedding on Maui costs only a fraction of the average mainland wedding, including the honeymoon! I'm sure you have heard the saying "Life is Uncertain; Eat Dessert First"! What better dessert than a Maui wedding and honeymoon? I recently heard about a campaign encouraging everyone to "Dine Out For America!" to help our economy! How about: "GET MAUI'D FOR AMERICA!" It's the patriotic thing to do and a great story to tell your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren! You will have a never-to-be-forgotten experience and magical memories. "This is the moment..." and what better time than NOW?
Maui's Wedding Specialists - Most Caring & Professional!
Maui's wedding specialist are very caring professionals and are sensitive to your needs! Most of us feel as though we are like one big family. Most of us know each other very well, have attended meetings together and work with each other often.
We look forward to working with each other and consider the wedding business to be one of the most creative and emotionally satisfying things one can do.
Maui's wedding professionals know each other's nuances and needs, with respect to how we set up and how we go about conducting a wedding. For instance, the musician always knows to ask the photographer and videographer where to set up, because it is these two wedding professionals that know exactly where everyone should be placed to get the best lighting and visual background. The photographer always works with the videographer, in order to not get into the video shot, and the videographer knows when to pull into a tight shot (close up) so that the photographer can walk in closer for his/her photo close up shot. And of course, the minister knows when to pause and cue for a musical selection within the ceremony, as well as which way to turn or stand so that all can be photographed and viewed in pleasing positions. All of these examples illustrate the cooperation and professional experience of your wedding specialists. It demonstrates our desire to give you the most heartfelt ceremony and emotionally satisfying experience.
Our first and foremost intent is to make your day flawless and special. It is what we all come together to strive for the most... to make your day unforgettable.
One of the aspects of this spirit of cooperation is that of your ceremony being a family experience. Even when it is just the wedding couple who have come to Maui, with no friends or family attending, the feeling of family prevails within the group experience. All of the specialists, creating this special day, all feel as though the wedding couple has become family and is special.
So, whether you are bringing a group of 50 or just yourselves to Maui, you can rest assured that the group of wedding specialists that you bring together will create for you a spirit of family and of cooperation in achieving a most wonderful event in your life! Whether you hire everyone yourself, or hire a planner to do it for you, chances are all the specialists that come together for your special day have worked with each other before and look forward to seeing each other again.
Those of us who 'work' within the wedding business just call it 'work' in order to be paid for what we love to do!
